Omagh Town Councillor Ross Hussey has congratulated 2 local men on their recognition in the New Years Honours list published on New Years eve.

Sergeant David McFall of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (incorporating the Royal Ulster Constabulary GC) has been awarded the Queen’s Police Medal for his police service.  I have known David for many years and in fact served with him in Omagh during my time as a part time police officer.  I wish him well for the future and congratulate him on recognition of the work he and his team undertake in the Omagh District Council area.

Victor Refausse has been awarded an OBE in the New Year’s Honours and again Victor would be well known to many in Omagh through his hard work with the South West College in Omagh.  This award is long overdue and again I pass my best wishes to Victor and his family.
